ICCAH 2017 Successfully Held by English Department of Andalas University

Thursday, (07/09) International Conference on Culture, Art, and Humanities
(ICCAH) has been completed. ICCAH is an international conference as the result
of collaboration English department of Andalas University with University of
Social and Science and Humanities, Vietnam and The University of Malaya, Malaysia
to bring together researchers, and students to share ideas on how social and
cultural changes in the world, especially in Asia.
The
event was held at the Convention Hall Andalas University, invited keynote
speakers from the international Islamic University Malaysia, Tan Sri Dr. Rais
Yatim, and invited speakers, Prof. Emeritus Tsuyoshi Kato (Kyoto University,
Japan), Prof. Dr. rer. Nat. Nusyirwan Effendi (Andalas University), Diah
Tyahaya Iman, M. Litt., Ph.D. (Andalas University), Mirna Elfira MA. Ph.D
(University of Indonesia) and other speakers. ICCAH this time themed
"Culture and Global Changes For Better Human Life".
Started from 08 AM to 05 PM, there were many sub-themes discussed, such as Language,
Linguistics, Applied Linguistics (Linguistics), Literature, Music and
Performance Studies, Education (Character Building, Literacy), History,
Heritage and Archeology Sociology and Human development (Matrilineal
Communities, Migration, Gender and Identity, Religion), and also Media and
Journalism.
One
of the ICCAH participants, Yolanda, gave a positive response to the conference.
"This ICCAH event is very beneficial for all of us, because in this age of
globalization the culture has been much faded, therefore ICCAH is a forum for
the nation's successors to open their eyes and share their thoughts that
culture must be grown and conserved."
In
accordance with its theme, this conference is intended to discuss the problem
of globalization and cultural changes. It is hoped that through this
conference, many people especially young generation like students can gather to
share their thoughts, ideas and knowledge to understand cultural issues.
